The Russian prodigy dropped 143 ADR and 22 kills on the closing map of the grand final.

The Russian prodigy dropped 143 ADR and 22 kills on the closing map of the grand final.

Team Spirit (#1 in VRS) faced off against TheMongolZ (#4 in VRS) to contest the BLAST Bounty Season 2 grand final.

Team Spirit came off the back of winning their previous grand final in IEM Cologne, and repeating a win against rival MOUZ the the Bounty.

TheMongolZ have yet to win a tournament in 2025, but were able to take down Team Vitality in 2-0 fashion yesterday, a feat only two other teams have achieved this year.

The favored team started on their map pick of Nuke, Spirit’s map pick.

They managed to wring out a 7-5 T-half with Daniil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets unusually quiet, being outfragged by Mongolian star Azbayar ‘Senzu’ Munkhbold initially.

On the CT-side, Spirit quickly got up to an 11-5 score, thanks to winning both pistol rounds. But TheMongolZ were not ready to give up yet.

Donk spraydown seals a dicey Nuke

The Mongolians were able to grind out a 24-round game, by winning some close rounds, including a 2v3 post-plant held on by bLitz and Sodbayar ‘Techno’ Munkhbold.

The Mongolians looked poised to bring it to OT, but Spirit got ahead of them.

It was the wunderkind, donk, to seal it for Spirit by managing a 3k spray in ramp room while on an incendiary grenade. The series went to Mirage, with theMongolZ inches away from overtime.

On Mirage, Spirit got their third pistol of the series, and got up to 4-0 in the opening half. Then, the Mongolians went on an impressive run, winning 6 rounds in a row to take a scoreboard and economic lead.

Spirit looked to recover to a 6-6 half, but a 1v3 from Garidmagnai ‘bLitz’ Byambasuren predicated on sh1ro and Leonid ‘chopper’ Vishnyakov misses secured a 7-5 start on the Mongolians’ map pick.

MongolZ pistol woes continue

Spirit secured their fourth consecutive pistol round in the series as they equalled the score in what would be a back-and-forth Mirage.

Sh1ro was the consistent star for Spirit, while bLitz kept MongolZ in the running, also getting an inexplicable knife kill.

The Russian AWPer had the highlight of the series, as he managed to got a 1v5 situation down to a 1v1 in the 24th round to try to win the map. As it was, it went to overtime.

Spirit clutch out overtime

Despite a 1v2 clutch from bLitz in OT, it was all Spirit to close out the map.

Sh1ro stepped up with a 30-bomb on Mirage, making up for donk’s lukewarm performance.

On the third map of Ancient, it was a straightforward affair as donk put up his usual mayhem to give Spirit an 8-4 lead going into the defensive side.

Nobody on TheMongolZ was able to match donk, and could not resist the Spirit onslaught and eventually fell 0-3.

Donk picks up another MVP for his spectacular 2025, and Spirit take home their second consecutive top-tier event.
