The semi-finals of Stake Pulse Beat II saw 100 Thieves and Astralis match up in a VRS-significant bout that could determine Major invites. Before the match, 100 Thieves were at about 20% chance of reaching the Major, according to two known VRS experts’ predictions, now with better chances.
100 Thieves revive their Major chances
As per Finn ‘Mischief’ Farrer and Jesper ‘Udknud’ Larssen‘s predictions on X, 100 Thieves were at less than a 1 in 4 chance of making the Singapore Major before this series, factoring in predictions of their future matchups before the cutoff date of November 2nd. After the series, the former ran a prediction that showed they had above a 1 in 3 chance now.
Astralis had an incredibly high chance at reaching the Major according to both predictions at around 90% chance. With this loss they fall below 90% in Udknud and Mischief‘s predictions, which the former describes as “the treshhold where you really have to mess up a lot as a team to not qualify”.
jabbi undeperforms and Astralis crumbles
It was a tightly contested series that saw both teams win their map picks emphatically. However, we saw the same poor form from Jakob ‘jabbi’ Nygaard that spelled disaster for Astralis at prior events.
With jabbi going 13-21 in the final map with 50 damage per round on average, Astralis barely lost the series. What’s worse, the final round had a 4vs2 situation with time on their side, only to fall apart.
