Ryu holds the mantle of having the worst highs and lows of Astralis’s stars.
Astralis announced their first ever international Counter-Strike roster in early 2026, adding a new AWPer and lurker to their team from Sweden and Lithuania.
Under the leadership of Rasmus ‘HooXi’ Nielsen, Astralis quickly found better results. However, their season ended with a whimper, getting knocked out of the Stage 2 of the IEM Cologne Major.
They now seem to have fallen even further, with a shocking elimination loss to unknown Mongolian team 5star.
Using PandaScore rating, we came up with three statistical points which illustrate Astralis’s struggles.
1 – How strongly rating is associated with map results
Main conclusion: Astralis lives and dies by jabbi and ryu

The “correlation” metric shows how closely a player’s rating on a map moves with winning or losing. 0 is no relationship, 1 is perfect. All five sit between 0.45 and 0.62, so none of them is a passenger.
The low position of Staehr on this graph can be explained by the consistency of his performances – even in a loss his rating remains respectable. The same cannot be said of Jakob ‘jabbi’ Nygaard and Gytis ‘ryu’ Glušauskas, whose rating we will see plummet when it comes to losses.
This is unideal, as jabbi is supposed to be one of the preexisting pillars of the roster before going international, and ryu is one of the bombsite anchors of the team.
2 – Percentage of maps above 1.00 rating
Main conclusion: The stats show an overreliance on Staehr

For anyone who has been following Astralis’s performances, Staehr being their most consistent pillar is no surprise. He has averaged nearly 70% of maps above a 1.00 rating, the benchmark for a good performance, and has averaged the highest rating on the team (1.21) across their 134 maps played.
The other three stars on the team are around the same range of 60% of maps above a 1.00 rating, showing some consistency, but no one has stepped up to help Staehr carry the load.
3 – Player rating in wins vs. losses
Main conclusion: jabbi is hot-or-cold, while ryu has both the lowest floor and ceiling.

The “Δ” tells us the difference between the average rating of each player in their wins compared to that of their losses.
Immediately, we see that jabbi has the highest Δ of any player on Astralis, with a 0.53 difference in his rating in wins compared to losses. On the wins side, he is the highest rated player on the team, with an exceptional 1.41 rating, falling all the way to a 0.88 in losses.
But simply looking at the Δ is misleading. All the way down with jabbi is ryu with a 0.40 Δ, the second-highest, who has the worst rating in wins and losses for Astralis apart from HooXi with a 1.27 and 0.87, respectively. He is nowhere near jabbi’s highs while still having the lowest floor of the stars.
