Another one! s1mple and BC.Game suffers another embarrassing defeat in qualifier

BC.Game have suffered another early exit in open qualifier play, falling 8-13 to Xcity in the first open bracket for an $80,000 Swedish LAN event. The defeat comes immediately following a two-week team bootcamp aimed at addressing ongoing cohesion issues.

Struggles against Xcity

The best-of-one contest remained closely contested during the first half, with both sides trading rounds to enter the interval tied at 6-6.

Xcity pulled away during the second half. Led by tuzon, who posted a match-high 21-11 scoreline and a 1.59 rating, Xcity conceded only two rounds on defense before closing out the 13-8 victory.

Sodbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold stood as the lone positive performer for BC.Game, finishing with 18 kills and a 1.36 rating. The remainder of the roster struggled to find output across the map:

  • Emil “Magisk” Reif: 10-13 (0.97 rating)
  • Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev: 15-16 (0.92 rating)
  • Ayush “mzinho” Batbold: 11-13 (0.78 rating)
  • Denis “electroNic” Sharipov: 9-14 (0.76 rating)

Persistent difficulties in open brackets

The result adds to a challenging phase for the organization. Ever since s1mple signed in July 2025, the lineup has faced sustained attention and scrutiny from the Counter-Strike scene.

Despite assembling major championship winners in s1mple, electroNic, and Magisk alongside young talent, BC.Game have consistently failed to convert high expectations into qualifier advancement. Their track record in recent open events includes eliminations across multiple tiers:

  • Esports World Cup 2026 Open Qualifier
  • IEM Beijing 2026: Global Open Qualifier
  • STAKE Pulse Beat II: Open Qualifier #1 and #2
  • PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 Open Qualifier #1 and #2
  • STAKE Pulse Beat III: Open Qualifier #1

One final opportunity

BC.Game have an immediate chance to redeem their initial qualifier performance. The team will return to the server today for the second open qualifier, which offers their last pathway to earn a spot at the $80,000 LAN event in Sweden.
