Olympus Rising

Olympus has been rebuilt from the ground up for better flow, dynamic positioning, and elevated gameplay. The new layout reduces open spaces and reworks key areas like Orbital Cannon and Energy Depot, providing safer rotations and more balanced cover.
New POIs

- Somers University: Built by Horizon to honor her son Newton and study the universe’s mysteries, this new area replaces Orbital Cannon and features tall, interconnected architecture and high-flying lifts.
- Gravity Engine: The new core of Olympus, replacing Energy Depot. This POI harnesses Branthium power to keep the city afloat, featuring vertical lifts, ziplines, and multi-layer combat.
- Stabilizer: Located where Docks once stood, Stabilizer keeps Olympus aligned. Floating rocks from Págos form natural paths to outer structures.
- Dockyard: Near Hydroponics, Dockyard combines classic Olympus design with new vertical combat layers.
Smaller tweaks have also been made across Olympus, adding new camps and more cover in previously open zones.
Amped legends

Three Legends headline the Season 27 balance changes: Valkyrie, Rampart, and Horizon.
Valkyrie:
- VTOL Jets recharge three times faster and take off quicker.
- Skyward Dive Ultimate launches sooner.
- Missile Swarm now causes no self-damage, scans enemies, and disables their movement passives.
These changes return Valkyrie to her jet fighter fantasy, restoring her mobility and threat in aerial combat.
Rampart:
- Amped Cover evolves with gameplay, gaining health as Evo levels increase and adding a roof.
- Infinite ammo and faster reloads when firing behind cover.
- Regenerating walls out of combat.
Rampart now transitions from static defense to mobile area control.
Horizon:
- Gravity Lift cooldown reduced, lift speed increased.
- Black Hole Ultimate gains more health.
- Fast fall and gliding options added, with bonus lift charges on knockdowns.
Double Tap alternator

The Alternator SMG gets a major upgrade with the Double Tap Hop-Up. It fires from both barrels at once, making it a deadly hybrid between an SMG and a shotgun. This new hop-up turns the Alternator into a devastating close-range weapon, perfect for aggressive players and tight fights.
Mantle boost

Season 27 introduces Mantle Boost, a new addition to the advanced movement system. If players time their climb perfectly while mantling a ledge, they’ll gain a burst of forward momentum, letting them reposition faster or dive directly into a fight.
Mantle Boost is Apex’s official take on the community-created Superglide, offering a similar experience that’s easier to perform while keeping the high-skill ceiling intact.
Adjustable on-screen timing indicators make learning this mechanic simple for new and experienced players alike.
Ranked drop zone and loot updates
Ranked mode now features loot quality adjustments across Drop Zones to improve fairness. POIs now offer more consistent loot distributions, reducing the massive variance between early-game landing spots. Respawn’s goal is to make every match feel competitive, regardless of where squads drop.
Trident tune-ups

The Trident vehicle is faster, smoother, and more powerful than ever. Starting in Season 27, the Trident will have:
- Improved handling and boost control
- A new jump and glide function over rough terrain
- Ramming damage for hitting opponents
- An independent health pool (no more shared damage with occupants)
Players can now even snipe enemies off Tridents, adding a new layer of vehicle combat to Apex.
Amped launch challenges and wishlist

Complete Amped Launch Challenges in the first two weeks of the season to earn Amped Seasonal Packs and test out the brand-new Wishlist feature. Players can select five Legends and two weapon classes to influence their drop odds for Limited Epic rewards.
The event also includes a chance to unlock the new Mythic “Bird of Prey” R-99 skin, featuring sleek metallic wings and reactive animations. Respawn plans to expand Wishlist functionality to more pack types in future updates.
Audio system overhaul

As part of Season 27, Respawn is introducing a full audio update with new technology that improves clarity and situational awareness:
- Focused Mix: Enemy footsteps louder, squadmate steps removed, and weapon volume balanced.
- Threat System: Dynamically prioritizes important sounds during combat.
- Multiband Compression: Keeps key frequencies clear even during chaotic fights.
- Environmental Blending: Smooth transitions between indoor and outdoor sounds.
