While many young stars in the Counter-Strike scene eventually look toward international rosters to chase bigger paychecks or new opportunities, Danil “donk“ Kryshkovets is carving his own path. Speaking at the media day before BLAST Rotterdam, the 19-year-old phenom made it clear that he has no intentions of following in the footsteps of fellow countrymen like Ilya “m0NESY“ Osipov or Maksim “kyousuke“ Lukin.
Unshakeable loyalty
When asked if he would ever consider joining an international roster in the future, donk’s answer was an unwavering commitment to Team Spirit. For him, the bond he shares with his current organization transcends standard professional ambition. His dedication isn’t just tied to the team’s current success, as he emphasized a willingness to stick with the organization through thick and thin.
“I don’t know why I should, actually. For me, Spirit is a family organization. Even if everything goes wrong, I think I will stay in Spirit.”
Inspired by Team Vitality
Instead of looking outward for a new home, the young rifler looks to his biggest rivals for inspiration on how to build a lasting legacy. While he firmly views reigning giants Team Vitality as his primary obstacle, he also admits to admiring their current form:
“It’s enemy number one, but also it’s very inspiring to see this team play in the way they play.”
For donk, the rival roster serves as a perfect blueprint for what a dedicated team can accomplish over time. He finds particular motivation in their veteran leadership and the environment that keeps them at the top:
“Actually, all five players are very inspiring because you see apEX playing 20 years and he’s still hungry for winning. Everyone in this five-man roster is great. It’s very inspiring in terms of what you can achieve if you have the right people and maybe the right structure.”
Team Spirit and Vitality are in the same bracket at BLAST Open Rotterdam, and could face each other for the first time in 2026 later in the tournament. Spirit face Team Liquid tomorrow in the first round.
