Valve honors magixx with the first Counter-Strike 2 map tribute following IEM Cologne clutch

The Team Spirit player receives an in-game nod in Market after his series-defining spraydown against G2 at the Lanxess Arena.

Valve has shipped a new update to Counter-Strike 2. The developers added a unique visual object on Mirage to celebrate Boris “magixx” Vorobyev and his 1vs4 clutch against G2 during the IEM Cologne Major 2026.

A new addition to Market

The modification takes place in the Market area of the map. Rather than implementing a traditional graffiti on the wall, the developers placed a set of tomato paste jars on the shelving next to the window. You can view the specific design in the images below, which shows a red tomato character and the text “MAGIC secret sauce 4x” printed on the label.

The historic 1v4 clutch against G2

The clutch that inspired this update occurred during a tense series against G2. In a 1vs4 scenario, magixx held his ground by the window in Market. From this angle, he successfully sprayed down all four remaining G2 players to win the match. The play stunned the Lanxess Arena for a brief moment before the crowd erupted. Spirit went on to win the match after several overtimes.

Shifting from graffiti to physical objects

Historically, Valve recognized massive competitive plays in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive by painting permanent graffiti on the map surfaces. Players like Marcelo “coldzera” David and Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev received famous wall decals on Mirage and Cache to commemorate their iconic Major tournament moments.

The addition of the tomato paste jars for magixx marks the first time Valve has introduced a tribute of this kind in Counter-Strike 2. By utilizing a physical in-game object instead of a flat wall texture, the developers have established a new method for immortalizing professional players in the active duty map pool.
