VALORANT Leaks: Is a Massive Sage Rework and New SMG Coming at Masters London?

The VALORANT community is buzzing following two massive new theories dropped by prominent leaker Valor Haberci. When you connect the dots between recent lore updates, missing Battle Pass teasers, and Riot’s historical patterns, these theories make an incredible amount of sense.

We might be looking at a complete Sage rework presented as a brand-new agent reveal, alongside the introduction of a brand-new mid-range SMG. Let’s break down exactly why the community believes this is happening and what it means for the Season 2026 meta.

The Sage Rework Theory: A New Agent Reveal?

The speculation starts with a very suspicious omission in the upcoming Act 3 Battle Pass. Historically, Riot Games always includes a teaser player card in the Battle Pass to hint at the next agent or map. However, the Act 3 Battle Pass contains zero teasers. No agent hints, no map coordinates—nothing.

This signals a break in the standard content cycle. With Masters London rapidly approaching, Riot is not going to let a major international VCT tournament pass without a massive announcement. If there isn’t a new agent or map, the most logical centerpiece for London is a full-scale agent rework treated as a major reveal.

The Evidence Supporting the Rework

  • The Precedent: Riot has done this before. Significant reworks for agents like Yoru and Harbor were treated as major, meta-shifting reveals rather than simple patch-note adjustments.
  • The Lore Connection: If you have been following the Patch 12.08 lore updates, you know that Sage is deteriorating. The radiant crystals that form her entire identity—healing, walling, and resurrecting—are now causing her immense physical pain. The theory suggests the upcoming mid-season cinematic will feature Sage shedding these crystals and evolving, perfectly setting the stage for a new kit.
  • The Meta Impact: Sage has been a staple since the game’s launch, but high-ELO players frequently criticize her for being too passive and predictable. A complete rework would revitalize her playstyle and completely shake up standard team compositions.

The New SMG Theory: Filling the Arsenal Gap

The second theory revolves around the introduction of a new weapon. While Val Haberci explicitly notes this is a personal theory rather than a datamined leak, the logic behind it is incredibly solid.

Earlier this year, when Riot introduced the Bandit pistol, the developers explicitly stated that their primary goal for 2026 was to “focus on deficiencies in the arsenal and fill gaps.”

Why We Need a Mid-Range SMG

When you look at the current state of the SMG category, a glaring gap becomes obvious:

  • The Stinger is built purely for rapid, close-quarters burst damage.
  • The Spectre is also heavily focused on close-range, run-and-gun skirmishes.

There is currently no viable mid-range SMG that sits comfortably between these close-quarters options and the full-buy rifles (Vandal/Phantom). The theory suggests Riot is preparing to release an SMG structurally similar to a UMP45—a weapon that rewards slightly slower, more precise mid-range engagements on half-buy rounds.

Given Riot’s stated priority to flesh out the weapon pool this year, dropping a new SMG alongside a major agent rework at Masters London would be the perfect way to keep the game feeling fresh.
