“Storm and Shadow”: VALORANT Officially Reveals the Kuronami Skin Bundle

After plenty of anticipation, Riot Games has officially released the reveal trailer for VALORANT’s next major cosmetic line: the Kuronami bundle. Titled “Storm and Shadow,” the cinematic and gameplay trailer showcases a stunning, weather-altering aesthetic that heavily leans into ninja themes and elemental water magic.

If you are a fan of sleek designs, sharp blades, and high-tier animations, this bundle is shaping up to be a must-have. Here is a full breakdown of everything revealed in the official trailer.

The Kuronami Weapon Lineup

The trailer provides a clear look at the weapons included in the Kuronami collection. Riot has chosen a highly popular set of guns for this drop, ensuring that the skins will see plenty of use in standard competitive play:

  • Vandal
  • Spectre
  • Sheriff
  • Marshal
  • Kuronami no Yaibo (Melee)

Design and Aesthetics: The Power of Water

The word Kuronami translates to “Dark Wave,” and the bundle delivers on that promise perfectly. The weapons feature a dark, metallic base with glowing cyan accents. However, the true selling point lies in the elemental animations.

When equipping and reloading the weapons, water flows and forms around the guns. The trailer highlights intricate details, such as water droplets hovering around the weapons during inspect animations and the satisfying, fluid visual effects that accompany every shot.

The Melee: Dual-Wielded Kunai Chains

The absolute standout of the reveal is the melee weapon. Moving away from standard knives, the Kuronami melee features dual-wielded kunai connected by an energy chain.

The gameplay footage shows the player spinning the kunai in a whirlwind of water during the equip animation, and striking with sweeping, chain-assisted slashes. It immediately cements itself as one of the most unique and dynamic melee weapons in VALORANT history.

The Finisher: Summoning the Storm

Riot has consistently pushed the boundaries with their round-ending finishers, and Kuronami is no exception.

Upon securing the final kill, the environment shifts as a localized rainstorm brews overhead. The defeated enemy is rapidly encapsulated inside a floating, swirling sphere of water. The trailer emphasizes this dramatic shift in the weather, concluding with the Japanese kanji for “Water” (水) glowing brightly.
