First Look: VALORANT’s Kuronami 2.0 Bundle and Transforming Melee Leak

With the next VALORANT Act kicking off in roughly a week, the community is already buzzing about what the launch skin bundle will be. Thanks to recent leaks, we finally have an answer: Riot Games is reviving one of the most popular skin aesthetics of all time with the Kuronami 2.0 collection.

While we are still waiting for official 3D renders from Riot, leakers have already revealed the full weapon lineup, the expected pricing, and a highly discussed detail about a transforming melee weapon. Here is everything you need to know before the new Act begins.

The Weapon Lineup: A Premium Arsenal

Riot is bringing out the heavy hitters for this sequel bundle. According to the leaks, Kuronami 2.0 will feature skins for the following four weapons:

  • Phantom
  • Operator
  • Guardian
  • Ghost

Currently, there is no official look at the in-game models. However, prominent community artist Snack VLR has created highly detailed concept art for the Phantom, Ghost, and Operator. These concepts are of such high quality that leakers suggest the final, official skins will look incredibly similar to his work.

The Melee Controversy: Kunai vs. Katana

The most talked-about aspect of the Kuronami 2.0 leak is the melee weapon. A low-resolution video has surfaced on social media showing off the knife’s unique mechanics, and it is confirmed to be a transforming weapon.

  • The Animations: When you initially equip the weapon, it features the heavy, satisfying pull-out animations of the RGX blade.
  • The Transformation: However, when you press the inspect key, the blade physically shortens and shifts into a smaller, Kunai-style knife with entirely different animations.

While the transforming gimmick is undeniably cool, it has sparked a bit of disappointment within the community. Many players were holding out hope that Kuronami 2.0 would finally introduce a full-length, traditional Katana.

Expected Pricing

Assuming Riot Games follows the exact same pricing model as the original Kuronami 1.0 bundle, this will be an Exclusive-tier collection with an upcharge for its premium animations.

Here is what you should expect to spend:

ItemExpected Price
Full Bundle~9,500 VP
Individual Weapons2,375 VP
Transforming Melee5,350 VP

With the new Act launching soon, we can expect an official cinematic reveal from VALORANT in the coming days. Start saving your VP if you are looking to secure that Phantom and Operator!
