After having spent nearly a year on the bench at mousesports/MOUZ, the 31-year-old veteran, Chris "chrisJ" de Jong is now a free agent.

The Dutchman leaves the Organization after eight years on the team. He won eight LAN trophies with the team including ESL One New York 2018 and ESL Pro League Season 10. He is most known for some spectacular aces on Mirage and Train, which has put him in the history books of CS:GO.

The future of Chris "chrisJ" de Jong is still unknown.

MOUZ have made an “emergency transfer” in their roster just two hours before their first match at DreamHack Open November 2021, the tournament organizers have announced. The 31-year-old Chris “chrisJ” de Jong has been confirmed to start for the German side, as he will replace Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras in the starting lineup. 

The reason behind the substitution is still unclear, as MOUZ haven't published any official statement yet. 

chrisJ is an iconic figure in the history of mousesports, having represented the organization since 2013. The versatile rifler/AWPer has experienced a lot of great things over the 7-8-year tenure, with the title at ESL Pro League Season 10 being one of the highlights - However, since January this year, chrisJ has been placed on the bench as an inactive player.

In a short period from late January to March 2021, chrisJ featured for FunPlus Phoenix as their in-game leader with great success. Despite some heavy rumours about a permanent deal, the two parties couldn’t agree on a contract.

The Slovakian rifler thinks that chrisJ can replace sunNy on a permanent agreement, he has been on loan from mousesports, but according to STYKO he won’t be anymore, because they will sign him permanently.

In an interview with HLTV confirmed STYKO stated the following.

-We want to return to the negotiations with Chris if everything works out. The contract isn’t signed yet, but the situation looks way better than for a couple of months ago, where the deal got canceled. We want to play with each other because he fits in our game plan and is a great in-game leader. ChrisJ is cheering us up in the games, which is important for our team, and I think that he has learned a lot from karrigan.

sunNy replaced ChrisJ in the roster from march 1st, and with him, in the roster, the organization secured a place in the playoffs of ESL Pro League after a third place in Group A

The Dutch Counter-Strike legend, chrisJ, is the epitome of loyalty. Having been with mousesports for the better part of a decade, the CS veteran has molded his playstyle to suit and is widely considered the Swiss Army Knife of CS:GO.

After seven years with mousesports his time came to an end and the Dutch AWPer joined FunPlus Phoenix on a loan deal. His loan period with the FPX team also came to an end as they couldn’t make a mutual agreement with him that would work for both parties on time.

Now, the 30-year-old veteran is without a team and spends his time streaming CS:GO for his audience. Despite being an AWP god, the Dutch legend also handles the Deagle very well as he shows on his stream, presenting a stellar 4k with the weapon that can make or break any round.

ESL has just announced the Group Draw for the upcoming Season 13 of the ESL Pro League. The last contender to be found among the 24 competing rosters was that of FunPlus Phoenix. Due to the fact that the tournament organizers were unable to bring an Asian representative to Europe, the newly shaped FunPlus Phoenix roster has been given the chance to compete instead.

Group A of the ESL Pro League Season 13 will compete from 8-12 March and features the likes of BIG and Heroic. 

Group B will have their battles from 13-18 March with the likes of Vitality and FaZe going head to head. 

Group C, most notably, consists of NAVI, FURIA, and Gambit and will be competing from 19-24 March. 

Group D is the fourth and final group that sees the current best team in the world in Astralis fight against the likes of Liquid and Evil Geniuses. Their matches will span from 25-29 March.

Chris "chrisJ" de Jong's loan period has come to an end. Failing to reach an agreement that suits both parties, the organization of FunPlus Phoenix has announced that the 30-year-old AWP'er will no longer be competing as part of their roster. Instead, however, they have confirmed a stand-in for "chrisJ" by the name of Miikka "sunNy" Kemppi, who will be competing in the FPX roster in their campaign in ESL Pro League Season 13. FunPlus Phoenix and "sunNy" will have the chance to prove themselves when the new ESL Season starts on the 8 of March. 

After agreeing to a loan deal, "chrisJ" made the move from Mousesports to FPX to be their new in-game leader. The new roster of FunPlus Phoenix showed great promise from the beginning and managed to secure a second-place in DreamHack Open January, as well as winning Snow Sweet Snow 1 ahead of Gambit. It is therefore rather surprising that "chrisJ" is returning to the bench of Mousesports. The General Manager of FunPlus Phoenix states the following in regards to the situation: 

"Unfortunately, we could not make a mutual agreement with chrisJ that works for both parties on time, and that's why we decided to try out another player..."

This player goes by the name of "suNny" and is by no means a novice player. The 26-year-old has had experience at the highest levels of professional Counter-Strike, competing under ENCE's banner when they peaked. Having been released from the Finnish organization, however, he is without any doubt one of the most talented and experienced free agents currently available on the transfer market. He will be put to the test as he re-enters the Counter-Strike scene, this time under the FunPlus Phoenix banner.

With today's results, we see Spirit and FunPlus Phoenix reaching the Grand Finals of Dreamhack Open January. Both teams have made roster-changes during the break and have debuted with their new lineups at the event. 

Spirit managed to best BIG 2-1 in an incredibly close BO3-series. The organization had signed two former Espada members in AWP'er Abdul "degster" Gasanov and sixth roster-member Robert "Patsi" Isyanov. Both seemed more than comfortable in their new setting and helped Spirit best the German giants of BIG. 

The other finalist was decided in the BO3-series between FunPlus Phoenix and Gambit. The newly shaped FunPlus Phoenix roster, that have recently signed former Mousesports player Chris "ChrisJ" de Jong, came out on top as they bested the Gambit side in a 2-1 victory. 

Spirit and FunPlus Phoenix will face off against each other at the Grand Final in a BO5-series tomorrow at 16:00 (CET).

The favourites from Evil Geniuses have been eliminated from DreamHack Open January after a total collapse against the newly established FunPlus Phoenix. The strong American team couldn’t handle the two veterans in Jesse “zehN” Linjala and Chris “chrisJ” de Jong, who led FPX towards two strong and completely one-sided victories on Nuke and Inferno.

FunPlus Phoenix advance through to the semi-finals where they will meet BIG, while EG once again concludes an event, on European soil, empty handed.

An era is over. For the first time since 2013 Chris "chrisJ" de Jong will not represent mousesports in the time to come. The 30-year-old AWP'er was benched recently on mousesports, and will in the next month be loaned to the new Organization in CS:GO, FunPlus Phoenix.

The Dutchman had his worst year in CS:GO with a rating of 0.91 during 2020.

FunPlus Phoenix plays their first match tomorrow at DreamHack Open January.

With neither of the two teams having competed in the, just finished, BLAST Premier Global Final 2020 event, it will be each team's first chance to display what they have accomplished during the break-period. Mousesports have during the break signed Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand as their new primary AWP'er to replace Chris "chrisJ" de Jong. The match against Faze marked the 23-year-old Danes' debut.

Whilst "acoR" was far from the best performing player on the server he seemed comfortable in the roster and with a 2-0 series-win on his debut he is presumably more than happy with the result. 

The first map took place over on Mirage and was picked by Faze. A controversial pick seeing that the map is one of Mousesports' better maps. In the last three months, they have managed a win-rate of 66.7% on Mirage. It was also Mousesports to have the stronger performance and with an impressive final scoreline of 16-6, they took the first map-point and put Faze on the back-foot. 

Faze needed to perform better as the two rosters moved on to the second map on Train. This was, however, not the reality and with a phenomenal performance from David "frozen" Čerňanský, the European roster of Mousesports went to halftime leading 11-4. The second half continued as the first had ended and Mousesports kept piling on the pressure. Ultimately they closed out the game and thereby also the series with a 16-4 map win on Train.

FunPlus Phoenix has just announced the signing of the former GODSENT quintet in Jesse "zehN" Linjala, Pavle "Maden" Bošković, Martin "STYKO" Styk, and Asger "farlig" Jensen. Alongside the four former GODSENT players, the organization has also signed Head Coach Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg to call the shots. All five new members of the Chinese organization have signed a three-year contract. 

The organization is currently looking for and trialing its fifth and final member in a new in-game leader. Chris "chrisJ" de Jong has been rumored to be the final piece of the puzzle for the new roster and seeing that Mousesports announced his replacement in Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand last week, it seems very plausible.

The Head Coach of the newly formed roster, "Devilwalk" has expressed the roster's goals for the upcoming 2021-season. He believes that FunPlus Phoenix has what it takes to become a tier-one team: 

"For us, 2020 has been a real development year. It has been the time where we have integrated into the top tier scene of CS:GO, and in 2021 we are bringing much clearer ambitions to reach higher to really compete within tier one CS,"

FunPlus Phoenix will have the chance to prove themselves from an early stage when debuting on Wednesday, January 27th. at the Dreamhack Open January event.

Mousesports have just announced their new signing in Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand, who has proven his worth in MAD Lions since December 2019. The 23-year-old will play alongside another Dane in Finn "karrigan" Andersen assuming that he stays in Mousesports. 

Mousesports states in their announcement on Twitter, that "acoR" will be replacing Chris "ChrisJ" de Jong who is rumored to be joining the new FunPlus Phoenix roster. "acoR" will therefore also be the one who is going to be wielding the AWP in the Mousesports roster. 

The Danish AWP'er seems more than ready to take on a new challenge and with impressive individual performances for MAD Lions, he could very well be the breath of fresh air that Mousesports needs. In a Twitter post, he states: 

"I will do everything in my power to surpass the expectations and reach my own goals." 

"acoR" will have his debut for Mousesports on Monday in the cs_summit 7 event, as they meet Faze in their opening match on the 25th. of January.

According to 1pv.fr and HLTV.org, mousesports are seeking a replacement for their Danish IGL and chrisJ who has been in the organization since October 2013, which makes him the longest-standing member of an organization in Counter-Strike.

The German organization are targeting the MAD Lions AWPer, Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand who could take over the AWP role that is occupied by the Dutchman and it appears that mousesports also are strongly interested in recruiting Chris “dexter” Nong, former IGL for Reneges and one of the best players Australia ever have witnessed. The choice of “dexter” would make sense given that Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg held the position of coach for Renegades for a few months before joining mousesports.

In this series, we take a look at the teams that finished 2020 in the Top 20 rankings. Today we take a look at number 9.

mousesports’ 2020 season have been highly contrasting. The historic organization started out by winning the first big event of they when they took the title at ICE Challenge in London and a following 2nd place at ESL Pro League Season 11. However, a roster shake-up, a banned coach and most importantly the rise of an “online era”, shattered their drive and momentum.

As earlier mentioned, did mousesports not need much time to get 2020 going. In the start of February, the powerful team led by karrigan took home the first big event of the calendar year at ICE Challenge in London. Karrigan and his troops grabbed a staggering $125.000 worth of prize money, after beating Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and the rest of NAVI 3-1 in a thrilling Grand Final. A matchup, that most likely will be remembered by the Flying Dutchmen aka. chrisJ and his miraculous 1v5 ace on the B-site of Train.

When ESIC released their first report on the “Coaching Bug” back in September, it brought devastating consequences for mousesports, both for the team and organization. mousesports’ coach Allan “Rejin” Pedersen was one among 37 coaches, who all received a ban for their involvement in the scandal. Rejin was one of the coaches who received the harshest punishment, with his 19.5 months owing to a total of 7 prohibited cases from his time at Tricked.  

The historic CS:GO organization felt compelled to release the successful coach, which they did on the 6th of October. A coach who has lead mousesports to huge victories as ESL Pro League Season 10 and CS:GO Asia Championships 2019.

Mousesports player Chris "chrisj" De Jong confirms that the match between Mousesports and Vitality is soon to presume.

BLAST have, according to chrisj, accepted to further discuss the usage of sensitive information, such as voice communication and screen recordings, with the CSPPA at a later date. 

If chrisj is correct, the match will presumably start within a short period of time, as the fans have waited for over 2 hours for the match to begin.

mousesports won their seventh match in a row, when they earlier today, took down GODSENT in a close Semi-Final matchup at DreamHack Masters Winter. karrigan and the rest of mousesports look like a team in perfect synergy, possessing experienced players in karrigan and chrisJ mixed with a powerful young trio of frozen, Bymas and ropz.

Robin “ropz” Kool has been the shining star for this mousesports team, being a player who always puts up a strong fight when he’s on the server. The Estonian player spoke with Frankie Ward and the rest of the desk at DreamHack, explaining how both he and mouz have improved themselves.

The star rifler also took his time to explain their map pick of Mirage, even though it’s their fifth-best map over the last 3 months.

A first encounter between the two teams this year ended with mousesports on top as they are one step closer to a spot in the playoffs. The North American squad didn’t manage to get a single map in the series as karrigan’s troops punished every small mistake they made.

Chris “chrisJ” de Jong was the top player in the server and finished the series off with a rating of 1.23 rating, 79.2 ADR, and a 42-32 score. It’s worth mentioning Robin “ropz” Kool who turned up the second map in beast mode after a poor performance on Inferno. The 20-year-old had the lowest score on Inferno (11-17 score, rating of 0.80, and 48.4 ADR) but turned the tables as he ended up being the best player on the second map with a rating of 1.52, 87.1 ADR, and a 27-10 score.

The mousesports squad have with today’s victory advanced to the upper semi-finals where they will face the winner of Astralis vs. GODSENT, while Liquid will play the loser of the game in the lower bracket of the event.

Are we witnessing the rise of a new Karrigan dynasty? The Danish in-game leader has proven before, that he can build up teams for glory. After the departure of Woxic, many were speculating if the German Organization could reach former heights. 

The performance at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown made a big impression on Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez, who worked on the event as an analyst. Here he gives his opinion about the new mousesports roster exclusively to Pley.
