ZywOo and Vitality win last-ever CS:GO Major over GamerLegion
The French squad cement their names in the Counter-Strike history books.
Vitality can call themselves champions of the final Major championship in our time as they secure the BLAST.tv Paris Major title.
That became a reality this Sunday evening after a dominant 2-0 victory in the Grand Final against the underdogs from GamerLegion. A matchup that was kicked off with a crushing 16-6 win for the hometown favorites on GamerLegion’s map pick of Overpass.
The battle got much more competitive and closer on Nuke, as we saw GamerLegion and especially star player Ivan "iM" Mihai step up massively compared to the first map. The Romanian revelation and his 25 kills played a huge role in GamerLegion pushing Vitality to the edge on their own map pick.
However, in the end, it wasn’t enough for the underdogs, with Vitality presenting a strong retaliation coming back from a 10-5 half time deficit to secure the overall title in front of a packed Accor Arena in Paris.
Led by captain and in-game leader Dan “apEX” Madesclaire, Vitality just proved too strong for GamerLegion in this title deciding battle, putting an end to an otherwise fantastic Cinderella run by the lower-tier squad.
