Virtus.pro confirms the signing of KaiR0N
Jame and company are making changes to the roster less than two months after winning the IEM Rio Major.
Sunday evening Virtus.pro/Outsiders revealed the acquisition of Aleksandr "KaiR0N-" Anashkin to their CS:GO roster. The 18-year-old talent is set to replace David "n0rb3r7" Daniyelyan on the starting lineup, which confirms a recent rumour by the CIS insider OverDrive.
n0rb3r7 will remain a part of the team and will be able to rotate into the lineup, the organization says in a statement.
CEO of Virtus.pro, Nikolai Petrossian, explains the decisions and elaborates on the role of n0rb3r7 going forward.
- A historic victory in Rio was followed by a humbling defeat in Abu Dhabi. We realized that the team needed changes that would allow us to stay true to our playstyle, while not letting opponents adapt to us. Therefore, we have decided to temporarily allow David to focus on his individual form, while KaiR0N- takes his place in the active roster.
- KaiR0N- is very talented. As soon as we had the opportunity to sign Alexander, we immediately took it. Glad to welcome him into the ranks of the Bears, Petrossian said and continued:
Not on the transfer list
- David is a brilliant player, that's why we don't put him out on a transfer list. If other clubs show interest and David himself has a desire to practice in tournaments, we are ready to consider proposals for a temporary loan.
- This decision was made by the owners and management of the club after consultations with the coaching staff. By signing KaiR0N- and retaining the contract with n0rb3r7, the roster gets the flexibility it needs, the ability for rotation, and remains robust, which is unattainable with a stand-in model, Petrossian concludes.
