First step in taking down your enemy is locating where he is. When an aim-duel takes place, no matter the map, there is an obvious advantage in spotting your opponent before he spots you, even if it is a matter milliseconds. Whilst there is almost always this battle of who can spot each other first, react faster, and aim better, sometimes all you need is intuition and game-sense.
Smokes and walls exist in Counter-Strike to obscure the vision of your opponent and to allow for strategies on when and how to peak around these blockades of vision. However, as we all have probably realized at some point, smokes are not walls, and even if some walls can give you a false sense of security.
