Valve cancels spring major in 2021
The next Counter-Strike Major will possibly take place November 2021
The game developer Valve has not yet announced exactly why their plans revolving around a Spring Major in 2021 has been scrapped, but it is safe to assume that it stems from coronavirus restrictions.
However, there is light at the end of the tunnel as Valve already has plans for a Major later in the year: "We are still disentangling our prior commitments, and currently have both a partner and an EU venue designated for a Major later in 2021." If Valve follows through with the later event, it will mean the fourth consecutive Major held in Europe.
As to when the Major will be planned Valve explains: "Assuming it makes sense to proceed, the event will take place October 25-November 7 with a potential play-in event October 23-24."
For many fans, the news is disheartening, as well as for professional players. One of these is seemingly Nathan "NBK" Schmitt who seems eager and ready to be battling once again on the big stage.
