Update: IEM Katowice to be held without an audience
ESL has announced, that the IEM Katowice event will take place, but not in the Spodek Arena as planned.
Instead, the tournament will be played as a LAN-tournament on location in Europe.
"Should COVID-19 remain a major barrier to the safety of our talent, players and staff we will then revert to online play in Europe," the tournament organizer announced today.
The Spodek Arena has hosted big e-sports tournaments since 2014, but will not be used in 2021. All ticket holders will have the chance of renewing their ticket for 2022 or get a refund according to ESL.
