Flashpoints own Creative Director and On-Air Analyst Duncan “Thorin” Shields states that some of the partner organizations to Flashpoint shouldn’t be in the tournament saying “these partner orgs that put out continuously poor line-ups just leaving Flashpoint”. He believes that teams like Gambit and GODSENT would fit better in the event.

Partner organizations are directly qualified for the prestigious event whilst other teams have to get through a qualification or being invited. The partners or founding teams are Gen.g, MAD Lions, MIBR, c0ntact, Dignitas, Cloud9 and Envy. Out of these seven teams, only Gen.g is placed in the top 30 in the world. This can be seen a bit weird when Flashpoint 2 holds the biggest prize pool in the entire 2020 season.
