Spirit and FaZe secure playoff spots after upset losses in earlier rounds
The playoff bracket at ESL Pro League is beginning to take shape as Spirit and FaZe join the already-packed lineup of teams.
The 20th season of ESL Pro League continues in Malta, showcasing intense Counter-Strike action at the $750,000 tournament.
Yesterday, FaZe and Spirit both clinched playoff berths after defeating Sangal and 3DMAX in their respective lower-bracket finals—one in Group A, the other in Group B.
Both teams had to fight their way through the lower bracket after surprising losses to underdog squads. FaZe first fell to Sangal, followed by Spirit's unexpected defeat at the hands of MIBR. Despite these setbacks, both karrigan's and chopper's squads will now compete in the upcoming playoff stage.
Meanwhile, Lynn Vision and KOI became the first two teams to be eliminated from the tournament, following losses to FlyQuest and Wildcard in Friday's Last Chance Stage.
