South American qualifiers will move to Faceit

ESL has announced the change of platforms due to several issues in the first round of qualifiers.

The South American qualifiers faced many issues in delays and with the GOTV under matches. On day two of the qualifiers, the match between Meta BR and 00NATION needed to be paused at a 4-1 scoreline due to DDoS attacks. After what the servers have been through the tournament organizer has decided to move the qualifier to FACEIT servers to make sure that the matches will run smoothly in the future.

Another change that the tournament organizer had to make at the IEM Road to Rio qualifiers is the change of which region Pakistani teams are playing under, as they were facing ping issues doing their games.

The next open qualifier will start on Aug. 20. Teams will compete to reach the final spots for the IEM Rio Major in November 2022.
