Already in 2020, Rio de Janeiro was supposed to be the host for the ESL Major, but the COVID-19 pandemic canceled everything. It is still unclear which venue is on ESL’s mind to host the Champions Stage of the IEM Rio Major.

If the rumor is true, the major, this time to be named IEM Rio Major, will run off the stack on October 31, 2022, with finals on November 13.
