shox and Nakama say goodbye to two players
Nakama bids farewell to two players after less than two months together.
Nakama, the French CS:GO team, has bid farewell to two of its players – Edouard “SmithZz” Dubourdeaux and Paul “day0s” Niel, the has announced. This comes after the team failed to qualify for the BLAST Paris Major Europe RMR in February, leading to the first roster changes after just over a month together.
SmithZz was initially brought in as a temporary addition to provide experience and leadership before taking a managerial role, while day0s was picked up due to his accomplishments in the FACEIT global ladder. Unfortunately, the two players weren’t able to make the necessary impact within the team.
In a statement on Twitter, day0s expressed his inability to adapt to the team’s gameplay, saying “I couldn’t adapt myself to this team gameplay that we brought in.” Nonetheless, he remained grateful for the opportunity to play with “two legends and two youngsters that might become legends.”
With only three players remaining in the starting lineup, Richard “shox” Papillon and the two young players Ryan “Neityu” Aubry and Jeremy “Kursy” Gast, the team is currently “evaluating various possibilities for the future.” As the ESL Championnat National 2023 tournaments draws near, Nakama must find a suitable replacement for the two departing players quickly.
It remains to be seen how Nakama will cope with these changes and if they can achieve success in the upcoming tournaments.
