A shock return needed? Pimp discusses the future of FaZe and karrigan
Counter-Strike expert and analyst Jacob 'Pimp' Winneche shares his dream scenario when discussing potential changes in FaZe.
- I’m sure this Major will be the last time we see this current FaZe lineup play together unless they win it or reach the final.
Counter-Strike analyst Jacob "Pimp" Winneche clearly believes changes may be in store for FaZe following the upcoming Major in Shanghai.
Speaking on the Feed The Trolls podcast, Pimp discussed the potential future of FaZe’s roster, suggesting that bringing back Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken to replace Finn “karrigan” Andersen could be a beneficial move for all involved.
First, the talk was on karrigan:
- In all honesty for me, a dream scenario for all parties involved is FaZe getting rid of karrigan. I want to send karrigan to G2, because I think he can go there straight away and G2 would be a better team with him, but karrigan would also be better with G2, Pimp said and continued:
- I think if he’s joining G2, I can almost guarantee you the first year with the team – karrigan, m0NESY and if they were to sign a player like perfecto whatever – that team would bang.”

Twistzz to save the ship
During the podcast, Pimp then argued why he thinks FaZe should look towards Liquid and bring back an old friend named Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken.
- So put karrigan in G2 and then FaZe should bring Twistzz back. I know Twistzz would probably love to come back to FaZe. I know Twistzz has felt hard done by Liquid, I think he was sold on the whole cadiaN and building a new international team (…) but Liquid turned out to be a bit of a shit show, the Dane explained.
Afterwards Pimp made a point about why Twistzz might find better success as an IGL in FaZe compared to Liquid:
- I think Twistzz has a place as an in-game leader and I think he quite frankly enjoys the role. But for Twistzz to mature into the role and make it easier, he cannot manage players like YEKINDAR, who’s in the biggest slump of his career or ultimate, who he has to nurture into becoming a decent player – we’ve also seen him drop off quite heavily right now.
- That’s too big of a task for a new IGL. However, if he were to join FaZe he would be back to players he’s been playing with for a long time, and I think Twistzz could manage in-game leading FaZe. Give them a fresh breath of air and activate some of those individual players again. This would make FaZe a better team and will also make karrigan a happier man for him to go and make G2 a better team. So that would be a win-win and dream scenario, Pimp said.
