Second CS2 Major in 2025 reportedly heading to Hungary
StarLadder makes its long-awaited Major return, four years after its last Valve-sponsored event.
Eastern Europe may soon host one of Counter-Strike’s most prestigious tournaments, as Sheep Esports reports that the second CS2 Major of 2025 is set to be held in Budapest, Hungary. If the rumors hold true, this will mark the first time a top-tier Counter-Strike event will grace the Hungarian capital.
The alleged StarLadder Budapest Major is scheduled to run from December 1st to 14th, 2025.
This news also signals the comeback of the Ukrainian tournament organizer, StarLadder, a name synonymous with several prominent LAN tournaments in the past. StarLadder hasn’t hosted a Major since 2019 when Astralis won their memorable Major trophy over AVANGAR.
In addition to the Budapest Major, StarLadder is confirmed to present StarSeries Season 20, a $500,000 LAN tournament in Budapest as well.
The first CS2 Major in 2025 has already been confirmed with it taking place in Austin, United States of Ameria, under the helm of BLAST. Check out the packed tournament calendar for next year in the article below.
