s1mple loses to 3DMAX in comeback match
Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev remains winless in Counter-Strike 2.
It did not end up being a dream return this Monday Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev when he played his official match since his move to Falcons last month.
The long-awaited (second) debut came at Thunderpick World Championship, where the Ukrainian superstar and the rest of Falcons suffered a 2-0 defeat against the Frenchmen from 3DMAX.
The Ukrainian star, who recently joined Falcons on loan, struggled to find his footing early on. However, he bounced back on Nuke, delivering an impressive performance despite the loss. s1mple ended the match as Falcons' highest-rated player, securing a 1.72 rating on the final map, reminding everyone of his individual brilliance even after a long hiatus.
Today’s match may not be s1mple’s first for Falcons, with him playing one single series for the team back in march this year, however, it still marks the comeback of one of the greatest the game has ever seen. The deal between the Saudi organization and s1mple is a loan arrangement, where he replaced the strong AWPer Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia.
s1mple and Falcons are playing their second match at Thunderpick World Championships at 18:00 (CET) this evening, where they will fight for survival against Virtus.pro.
