ropz on reuniting with frozen: It’s been a long time coming
The hard-hitting mousesports duet is back together after two years apart.
One of the most dominant and promising rifle duos in Counter-Strike got reunited last month, when FaZe announced the signing of the Slovakian star David "frozen" Čerňanský from MOUZ.
Bringing frozen on board, revived the old partnership between him and Robin “ropz” Kool that were so powerful for mousesports in the years of 2019-2021 under the leadership of the current FaZe IGL Finn “karrigan” Andersen.
In a recent interview with BLAST, ropz has expressed his thoughts on the reunion, stating that it has been in the cards for some time.
- It feels great [playing with frozen again], definitely. I think it's been a long time coming, ever since I got back with karrigan it's been a thing out there that he should come here someday, and now he's finally here and we'll have to see.
“He’s a complete player”
ropz left mousesports (now MOUZ) in late 2021 as he climbed the ladder and joined FaZe. In the meantime, frozen stayed in mousesports, where he quickly developed into a more experienced and profiled player.
Something, ropz also has acknowledged.
- I think he's become a more well-rounded player, ropz says in the BLAST interview.
- He was always a mature guy and level-headed, and he's extremely talented as well. There's a lot of good things to say for his age, he's one of those players you look towards because he's a complete player and he could do anything for a team, and that's the sort of player we were looking for. He takes more initiative now, he's more confident in what he wants to do, he's developed this way of playing and knows what works for him.

Replacing Twistzz
It was some big shoes frozen were set to fill out in FaZe, replacing a two-time Intel Grand Slam winner Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken. In the interview with BLAST, ropz touches on how frozen has slotted into the roles and what changes it has brought.
- There are some role overlaps in the team now that he's joined, but most of it is with rain and karrigan so they're swapping around a few roles. But overall, the picture stays the same. frozen does take over a lot of Twistzz's because some of the maps are perfect fits and some of them aren't so there will be some changes, but the idea of how we will play will stay the same.
