Rooster earns qualification to ESL Pro League Season 18
The Australian roster will be competing against the likes of FaZe, Heroic, and Astralis
Ranked as the #70, according to the official HLTV rankings, the Australian Rooster have earned their qualification to the team's second consecutive ESL Pro League. Michael "chelleos" Hawkins and his troops will make their way to Malta once again, where they will battle against some of the absolute best team in the world.
Whilst Rooster managed to qualify last season of ESL Pro League, their run at the event was short and without great succes. After suffering blows from FaZe, paiN, and 00NATION the Australian team was forced to travel back to Australia with a last-place finish, something they will be trying to avoid at the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 18.
Alongside Rooster, 31 of the best teams in the world will be competing in the renowned 32-team tournament, taking place from August 30 - October 1. With Rooster earning their spot at the event after defeating VERTEX 2-0 in the Oceania open qualifier, we're still waiting for the last three teams to qualify before knowing all 32 competitors.
The Australian and New Zealand team looks as follows:
Tyson "asap" Paterson
Michael "chelleos" Hawkins
Akram "ADK" Smida
Corey "nettik" Browne
Tynan "TjP" Purtell
