Richard Lewis: Falcons can secure s1mple at a reduced buyout
Surely, Falcons will still need to cough up a hefty sum for the NAVI AWPer.
Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev is currently competing under the Falcons banner after a longer hiatus from the competitive scene.
The Ukrainian superstar joined the team on a three-month loan deal in September, set to expire at the end of this year, with the possibility of extending his stay.
According to renowned journalist Richard Lewis, the Saudi-backed Falcons can sign s1mple permanently at a reduced buyout due to the terms of the agreed loan deal.
Lewis disclosed this in a recent YouTube video, where he shared insights from his sources about the negotiations behind the scenes and the reasoning behind opting for a loan deal.
The same sources hit me up, and they said that the reason it's a lone deal is because it behooves everyone. Falcons were a little bit reluctant to pay a full buyout. NAVI didn't want him to let go for free, but they also understand they're not going to sell him if he's not playing, because nobody knows which version of s1mple they’re going to get, Richard Lewis said and continued:
I have been told they paid a fee for the loan for three months - as they did prior when he played literally one series. Basically, there will be an option after three months to buy him permanently at a reduced buyout. That’s what been agreed. My understanding as well, is that s1mple did have a couple of offers, but apparently, he chose Falcons because he's been assured that if he enjoys playing there, they are going to rebuild the team around him and NiKo, Lewis concluded.
