Richard Lewis on BLAST: A refreshing change to ESL’s tired way of doing things
Richard Lewis revealed that he isn’t happy with ESL’s way of running CS:GO tournaments.
About 5 months ago, investigative journalist Richard Lewis announced his retirement from the esports industry. The veteran who is best known for uncovering the “iBUYPOWER” scandal, announced the news of him retiring in a stream, citing frustrations with the industry as one of the main reasons.
“When was the last time esports was fun for me? Probably after the Major in Boston in 2018. It’s not been fun for a long time. The industry is garbage, I hate it, and I came to the conclusion of just how much I hate it.”
On Sunday, the day of Fall Final’s Grand final between Heroic and FaZe, Richard Lewis went to Twitter after the match to express his appreciation of BLAST’s production levels and the way they’re arranging CS:GO tournaments. In the same time, he also took shots at ESL, stating that BLAST’s way of doing things is a refreshing change to ESL’s way.
“BLAST’s production levels really are the best we’ve seen in CS:GO since ELEAGUE. What really helps them stand out though is that they know how to put a show together conceptually, different segments, shots and graphics. A refreshing change to ESL’s tired way of doing things.” – Richard Lewis wrote on Twitter.
