Renowned Danish Footballer invest in new Danish CS team
Another high-profile Footballer has entered the world of Counter-Strike.
The most capped Danish football player in history, Simon Kjær, has become the owner of the new Danish team WOPA Esports.
Simon Kjær, 35 years and 131 matches for Denmark, currently plays for the Italian club, AC Milan, and joins a long list of players and ex-players who have invested in Counter-Strike teams around the world.
- I love playing Counter-Strike myself, and I hope to be able to help young girls and boys find and cultivate their passion, Kjær says in a statement from WOPA Esports.
Lionel Messi, Oleksandr Zinchenkok, David Beckham, and Casemiro are some of the big names, that are involved in investments in CS2.
WOPA Esports plays their first match in the Danish League, Dust2 Power Ligaen later tonight. The team consists of young Danish talents and will be one of the teams going forward that can nurture the talented Danish scene of young Counter-Strike players.
