Profiled IGL set to leave Danish team
AcilioN and Copenhagen Flames looks to part ways owing to the lack of finding a new fifth to the team.
The Danish in-game leader Asger “AcilioN” Larsen has decided to start looking for a new team, as Copenhagen Flames is in a rebuilding phase, the Danish organization announces on Twitter.
The former Heroic and MAD Lions captain and the org has agreed to a deal where he continues to play for the team, however, in the meantime, he will look for a new CS:GO project to represent.
AcilioN explains the decision with the following statement:
- I’ve been really happy with my stay in Copenhagen Flames, and I’ve had a great working relationship with everyone in the club. I’m sad that this ended up being the outcome – I felt like everyone really wanted to make this work and grow together. I think the roster overall had a lot of potential and we were all looking forward to working towards our common goals together. However, we weren’t able to find a good fit for a fifth player. Because of this, I think it’s best for both me and Flames if we look at other options.
The 24-year-old IGL may not be the only player leaving Copenhagen Flames, as some of the remaining players also have shown concern regarding the future of the team. Head of Esports, Daniel Vorborg states that they have trust in their current roster, however, he also explains that..
"there is a bigger puzzle that needs to work out in terms of roles and personalities in the team. As such, while it is not certain that the players’ future lies outside of Copenhagen Flames, they are welcome to look at options while we lock in what the future of our roster looks like" - Vorborg says.
