Only 36 teams from NA participated in open Major qualifier
NA teams competing in the Open Major Qualifier for the BLAST Paris Major have faced numerous challenges.
North American teams have been facing numerous challenges as they compete in the Open Major Qualifier for the BLAST Paris Major. One of the biggest obstacles has been poor communication with Gamers Club admins, which has left participants struggling to navigate the process. The platform is one of the largest in Brazil, but many North American teams are unfamiliar with it, leading to confusion and a lack of guidance on map and side selection. There was even a player banned for allegedly cheating during a game.
Adding to the difficulties the difficulties, several teams were not aware of the time they were scheduled to register or check-in. This resulted in some teams advancing without playing any matches, and the turnout figures were disappointing with only 36 teams confirmed to participate out of the 46 registered.
Despite these challenges, four teams managed to advance from the first BLAST Paris North America RMR open qualifier. Detonate, Mythic, timbermen, and Strife have earned their place in the NORTH American closed qualifier, joining some of the biggest names in North America.
During the first open qualifier, there were several instances of controversial behavior, with one player receiving a ban for allegedly cheating. This added to the tension, and it was not just the players who were left frustrated, but also fans.
