Funspark has announced a new three-stage tournament called Funspark RIVALS league that will take place in December and January featuring 18 Asian teams that will battle it out for $30.500 in prize pool. The Chinese TO has also announced that there will be an event for the European region but has not yet revealed its details.

The tournament will kick off its first stage with 16 teams divided into four bo3 round-robin groups, from which the top teams will advance to the playoffs and the second-placed team will have to play a decider map that will see the winner through to the playoffs as well.

The second phase of the event will include one more group stage, but this time two bo3 double-elimination GSL groups with four teams apiece, from which the two best teams who finish at the top will advance to the last stage of the tournament.

The final stage, which is the playoffs will feature a single-elimination bracket with bo3 matches played the whole way through until one team wins the title and is crowned champion.

The tournament will run from December 14 till January 15.
