New details regarding Sadokist’s removal from IEM Rio Major broadcast
More information has been shared about the altercation that got Matthew “Sadokist” Trivett fired from the IEM Rio Major broadcast.
Matthew “Sadokist” Trivett was removed from the Major broadcast in the middle of the event following an incident, which allegedly comes under much more scandalous circumstances than previously thought. New details about the altercation involving the 33-year-old have been shared by Dust2.us, reporting that Sadokist got into a heated argument, threw an object at a group of people who were filming promotional material for FURIA and Gaules, broke a TV, and argued with the vice president of pro gaming at ESL, Michal “Carmac” Blicharz who tried to calm him down, but without any luck.
During the night of the incident, 33-year-old Sadokist was reportedly drinking at a bar before making a return to the hotel, where players, casters, talent, and staff are housed. There at the hotel, Sadokist moved to the ballroom where PCs were set up for talent to play games during their downtime, and the altercation took place.
“Sadokist got into a verbal argument and threw an object at a group of people who were filming promotional material for Gaules and FURIA, which in turn caused a argument between the caster and the group. After this, it was the catalyst for Trivett’s escalation from being inebriated to violent. During a scuffle, Trivett smashed a TV within the room, prompting a response from staff.” – According to Dust2’s report.
When Carmac reportedly couldn’t calm Sadokist down, police eventually arrived at the scene. Sadokist immediately got removed from the broadcast team and got replaced by Anders Blume, who has been casting with Jason “Moses” O’Toole since.
ESL didn’t want to give any comment about the situation but only confirmed that there had been an incident involving 33-year-old Sadokist.
“We can confirm that an incident took place last night involving Sadokist. As a result of this, Anders has stepped in to commentate for the remainder of the tournament. We have no further comments and would like the focus to remain on the competition.”
