Mirage was introduced to the mainline Counter-Strike games as part of CS:GO’s release in 2013. Previously it appeared in Counter-Strike Online in 2008.

The map Mirage follows all of the standard conventions of CS:GO maps, with four main areas of contact, one being an open Mid area. Mirage is CT-sided, but not by much. It’s the only original Counter-Strike map to not be full reworked. There is a large variety of ways to play the map on both sides, so no games will be exactly the same. Mirage was released for Counter-Strike 1.6 back in 2010 and turned into being an instant favorite for players. After CS:GO was released in 2013, Valve decided to remake the map and add it to the Active Duty Map Pool. A few gameplay aspects were changed as well as the texture of the map.
