Media: Complexity set to sign talented duo for 2025 rebuild
The North American organization is reportedly closing in on their replacements for EliGE and floppy.
According to a report by Dust2.us, Complexity is nearing deals to sign Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk and Nick "nicx" Lee for the upcoming 2025 season.
The North American duo is poised to replace Ricky “floppy” Kemery and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, with the latter rumoured to be joining FaZe’s star-studded lineup across the Atlantic.
Unlike their predecessors, cxzi and nicx bring far less experience to the table, having yet to compete at a top-tier event.
cxzi, a 24-year-old rifler, is joining Johnny “JT” Theodosiu’s squad from Undone but has previously played under banners like Party Astronauts, Triumph, and Nouns.
Meanwhile, nicx remains a relative unknown in the competitive CS scene. In his report for Dust2.us, Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore described the move as a bold shift in Complexity’s recruitment strategy:
- The decision to stake the team's bets on nicx is a radical departure from Complexity's star-studded approach to acquiring talent in recent years. nicx has no international LANs under his belt and only recently started his semi-professional career in earnest in late 2023.
No EliGE for 2025
If the transfers are finalized, Complexity’s 2025 roster appears significantly weaker on paper.
While floppy’s performances may have dipped in 2024, the departure of their star player and hard-carry in EliGE, raises serious concerns for the North American squad.
This leaves in-game leader Johnny “JT” Theodosiou and head coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen with a massive task of integrating cxzi and nicx into the lineup and achieving competitive results in the new season.
Complexity’s projected roster for 2025:
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
Michael "Grim" Wince
Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli
Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk
Nick "nicx" Lee
Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (Coach)
