Maniac on Complexity star after exit: It feels like he has given up
The Counter-Strike expert and analyst did not hold back while discussing the North American team, after their early exit from Esports World Cup.
“Catastrophe”, “absolute disaster” and “a laughable result”.
That’s how the renowned expert and analyst Mathieu “Maniac” Quiquerez describes Complexity performance against M80 at Esports World Cup this Thursday.
The criticism from the expert comes after Complexity blew a 7-1 lead on the CT-side of Anubism which led to a map defeat and eventually also an early elimination from the $1.000.000 event.
- We’re talking about an upset. I’m upset. I’m upset about what I’ve just witnessed. I’m all over the place and I can’t help but have a little bit of empathy for the catastrophe that Complexity just went through. This is an absolute disaster and it’s a laughable result if you consider how in control they were, Maniac said on the official broadcast.
A tough exit-interview
Following the early exit at Esports World Cup, Complexity’s star player, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski gave an interview with Freya Spiers, where he discussed the team's issues.
- We had mountains and mountains of mistakes. It looked like an NA ECL game from both teams. It's tiring because we haven't been getting better with these types of mistakes, they're too frequent and this is how you lose games. Our comms are fine at the beginning of the round and everything, it's just things break down really quickly and we lose rounds that we shouldn't and give away a lot of advantages, EliGE said.
The interview can be seen in its entirety in the video below.
Maniac also addressed EliGE's interview in the post-match coverage, where the Swiss expert stated that he felt a form of “resignation” from the Complexity star.
- What I really feel when I’m listening to his [EliGE] interview is: resignation. He has given up. He has given in. He has accepted that there’s a limit, and that ceiling will not be broken through. “This is who we are, with the problems that we have”. That’s it.
