launders picks his favorites to win BLAST.tv Paris Major
The famous caster reveals his strongest contenders to take home the trophy in France.
The Counter-Strike world is gearing up for its biggest event of the year, with the much-awaited BLAST.tv Paris Major is set to start this Monday. With 24 top teams from around the world competing for the grand prize of $500.000, in what will be the last-ever Major in CS:GO history, the excitement seems to be at an all-time high.
But who is the favorite to win the entire thing?
That is something we have asked the renowned CS:GO expert and caster Mohan "launders" Govindasamy, who is set to commentate at the upcoming Major in France. Here launders pointed towards four teams, where none of them includes the France phenomenon and newly crowned IEM Rio winner Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut.
launders’ favorites to win BLAST.tv Paris Major (From 1 to 4)
1. G2
- I think G2 was actually pretty close to setting up something unbelievable at the beginning of this year. They had all these map records going on, and they were very, very, very good. I think they've had some small failures recently that have limited the amount of exposure we've had to them. But I don't think it's the end. I don't think they've gotten figured out or fallen off. I think those are blemishes, and I think right now you don't want to just bet on teams that won recently because that's the last like year. That just doesn't matter, hasn't mattered at all. Even with FaZe. They disappeared for like six months after winning the Antwerp Major and like came back afterward.
2. Heroic
- I think Heroic has a lot of new tactics, and probably has an even higher average than G2. I think they're scarier to play against. I think they have really good results overall. And even though they didn't crack the grand final, where they probably should have beaten Vitality [IEM Rio last month], I think other teams are really scared of them, I'm going to be honest.
3. FaZe
- And then we have FaZe, just because it's FaZe. I don't really think they are actually that good right now in particular. But they have excellent players, a great system and we know they can win a major.
4. NAVI
- The same can be said about NAVI. The only reason I put NAVI below FaZe, is because I don't know how npl it's going to look if they get in the playoffs, even though he's doing better now.
The Paris Major will start this Monday at 11:30 (CET) when the Challengers Stage is set to kick off. You can find the opening round schedule and live streams down below.
