“Lack of work ethic” – Twistzz reveals his reasons why the Liquid project didn’t work out
The Canadian star rifler sheds light on the struggles in the previous Liquid side, explaining that the roster suffered from several issues outside the server.
It’s fair to say that the ambitious Liquid side formed before 2024 never really lived up to the expectations of such a high-profile lineup. The results that followed were also disappointing, leading to the roster being dismantled after just six months.
In an interview with Pley.gg at the media day of BLAST Fall Groups, Twistzz briefly discussed the now-ditched Liquid project and his former in-game leader Casper “cadiaN” Møller. Although he was reluctant to go into detail, Twistzz pinpointed his reason for the team’s failure:
- There was a lack of work ethic in the team, Twistzz began.
- It was just not working inside or outside of the game. There was no chemistry or synergy. And you can’t really play the game without those two things(…) There is not that much to say about the first season of 2024. I’m just looking forward to this rebuild.

How did you experience playing under cadiaN and his system?
- It was very different from what I have experienced before in FaZe. In some way, it made me value karrigan a lot more. And that’s all I have to say about that, Twistzz answered.
What is something you feel you can take with you from playing under cadiaN into your own way of being an in-game leader?
- One thing he did very good was his momentum calls. Obviously, not every buy we had was great. But he was good to always try to have AK’s in someone's hands to damage the economy.
In the coming days, you can read a more comprehensive interview with Twistzz about the new-look Liquid. Here, the 24-year-old star goes into detail about his transition to becoming an in-game leader and how he was personally given the keys to the castle in the process of rebuilding the team.
