When thinking about iconic CS:GO events, IEM Sydney will probably spring to your mind. Although the Australian CS:GO scene is somewhat lackluster, Sydney has been the home of many iconic moments and memories for CS:GO fans across the globe to cherish. Set to take place on October 16-22nd, 16 of the best teams in the world will be fighting for a spot in the Grand Final and a piece of the $250.000 prize pool. 

IEM (Intel Extreme Masters) have just announced the invites for the upcoming CS:GO event on the official Twitter page. With eight of the current ten best teams in the world having received an invite, the event is sure to be pack-filled with new and exciting moments and memories. 

In addition to the invited teams, there are still five spots left in contention. The remaining five spots will be occupied by qualifying teams from the four different regions EU, NA, AS, and OCE. Fighting for a spot at the exciting event are the likes of FURIA and the new-look CIS roster of BetBoom.
