HooXi lashes out at Valve: It’s every f*cking time
The G2 captain is not pleased about the game developers' timing to update CS2 just a week before the start of the RMRs.
Last night Valve issued a big CS2 update which included several significant changes to the gameplay.
Smokes will now cast a shadow and player movement is some of the adjustments – however, the biggest one is undoubtedly the reduction of peeker’s advantage in the game.
“Classic Valve”
The update from Valve arrives right in the middle of IEM Katowice and just seven days before the super-important RMR Major qualifier.
Something, G2’s in-game leader Rasmus “HooXi” Pallisgaard Nielsen is far from pleased about, he explains in a post on X, criticizing Valve heavily for their timing for the patch note.
- Classic Valve to release a huge update a week before RMR and in the middle of Katowice. I am happy that something is happening towards fixing the game again but come on man…
- There are probably 10 new bugs in this patch and the smokes are totally fucked. Besides that, it just takes time to get used to such a big update. Maybe it will benefit us, maybe it won’t, I don't only think about me and the team with this tweet.
If not now, then when?
In a reply to HooXi, Counter-Strike analyst and expert Jacob “Pimp” Winneche points out that Valve is being limited due to the CS calendar being so stacked and that there’s “an important tournament going on NON stop, every week until post major”.
To that, HooXi replied the following:
- If it happened once or twice I would give them a pass, but it is literally every fucking time. Cannot be that hard to schedule updates and meet deadlines to make it better for everyone instead whatever the hell this is.
The new update will most likely not be used at IEM Katowice, with that being the common practice when updates are being issued while a tournament is ongoing. With that being said, we have reached out to both ESL and PGL for a confirmation on whether or not the update will be used in the playoff at IEM Katowice and next week's Major RMR.
