In the first matchup of the day, a four-hour elimination match between FURIA and Heroic went the way of the Brazilians, keeping them alive in the $500.000 tournament. The result makes IEM Global Challenge the fourth consecutive event Heroic were unable to reach top-4 and could see them dip in the rankings before the end of the year.

In the second matchup of the day, NAVI booked their ticket to the playoffs with a 2-0 victory over Liquid, which saw s1mple put the game away with two stunning rounds on the second map of the series.
