Day four of IEM Katowice continued with an exciting brawl between Virtus.pro and Heroic. Neither team had lost a single Bo3-series at the event before locking horns today. Whilst it would seem to be a close and nail-biting series between the two rosters, it never was. Heroic were on top of their game from start to finish and managed to suffocate VP before they ever got going. Never granting their opponents a chance over the span of just two maps, it was Heroic to confidently claim a 2-0 victory and secure first place of Group A.

The first map of the Bo3-series was to be played on Mirage and was chosen by Heroic. On paper, it is a map that both teams should find themselves confident on and have done in the past. This, however, seemed to never be the case as it was all Heroic from the get-go. A stellar T-sided half saw the Danes take a 10-5 scoreline into the second half of Mirage. All they had to do on their CT-side was to finish what they had started previously. Heroic did exactly that. Without dropping a single CT-sided round, it was the “cadiaN” and his troops to walk away from Mirage with a 16-5 victory.

The second map of the Bo3-series was set to be played on Vertigo and was, of course, picked by Virtus.pro. After a beating on Mirage, it was up to VP themselves to prove their abilities on their own map pick. Once again, however, it was Heroic to come flying out of the gate with high morale and momentum from the domination on Mirage. With “TeSeS” leading the charge on their CT-side, a 9-0 lead was gained before Virtus.pro could even do anything. The T-sided Virtus-pro roster managed to claw themselves back to a somewhat respectable scoreline of 11-4, however, they would need a close to perfect CT-side to stay in the game. Whilst the CT-side of Virtus.pro seemed more potent than their T-side, it was still too little too late. At 16-10, it was Heroic to take home Vertigo and claim a 2-0 victory.
