“He should have waited”: karrigan on Twistzz becoming an IGL
Does the FaZe captain have a point?
Earlier this year, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken made a bold career move by stepping into the in-game leader role for Liquid. A role that typically demands more attention to team strategy, often leading to a reduced individual performance from the player.
So, was it too soon for the 24-year-old star rifler to take on this responsibility?
According to his former FaZe captain, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, the answer seems to be yes.
Something the Danish veteran discussed in a recent Q&A on his own YouTube channel, where he that explained that he believes Twistzz should have waited to take on the role.
- I wished he would have taken a year or two to hit his peak. I told him that I think he should wait a year or two because he’s still in the peak of his career and his peak form as a player. But sometimes these opportunities arise, and he took it, karrigan said.
Despite the timing of the transition, karrigan praised Twistzz’s progress thus far:
- I think he’s done a great job so far. Hopefully, he can keep it up and not beat himself up when he’s losing games as a leader. Because that’s part of the learning curve.
