FURIA CEO reveals FalleN’s transfer fee
The then 32-year-old veteran was signed for a hefty sum back in 2023, matching the reported price G2 paid for Ilya 'm0NESY' Osipov a year and a half earlier.
What did it take for FURIA to bring Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo onto their Counter-Strike roster in 2023?
FURIA CEO Jaime Pádua has recently shared the exact transfer price, revealing that the Brazilian legend joined the squad for a significant fee around $600,000.
Something he did in the podcast Sports Market Makers, where he also touched on the impact of FalleN’s arrival:
- It was our biggest signing (...) For the world of esports, this is a significant amount. It’s not comparable to football figures yet, but at some point, it will get close. It was a very high investment that elevated our level in terms of audience and visibility,” Pádua stated in the podcast episode via Dust2.br.
The transfer fee of FalleN is equal to the reported price that G2 paid for the CS phenomenon Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov when he left NAVI Junior in late 2021 to join forces with Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and company.
FURIA added FalleN to the roster in July last year, joining the squad from Imperial. On FURIA, “The Professor” replaced Rafael "safe" Costa with the task of bringing the Brazilian squad back to the top of Counter-Strike.
Since his arrival, FalleN has been FURIA’s third highest-ranked player with an average rating of 1.01, trailing behind KSCERATO and Yuurih.
