FBI and ESIC have joined forces in a potential NA matchfixing scandal
Are we witnessing the rise of a new major scandal in CS:GO world?
It looks like a new scandal could emerge in the Counter-Strike world, after highly incriminating evidence of matchfixing in the North American scene, has been revealed. Something, which has gone from involving bans and smaller penalties to potentially being federal charges, enforced by the American government.

Because the Commissioner at the Esports Integrity Commission, Ian Smith has revealed in an interview with slash32 that he and ESIC are working together with the FBI in a joint investigation concerning a “ very serious” incident of matchfixing in the NA CS:GO scene.
- There has been organized matchfixing in the NA MDL amongst a small but significant group of players over a long period of time. Smith states in the interview.
Ian Smith explains how alleged “betting syndicates” has been bribing different players to fix matches for an economical profit in the North American ESEA Premier. The Integrity Commissioner states that they will go public with their findings within two weeks.
