FaZe eliminate FURIA to reach Shanghai Major playoffs
A classic FaZe performance as karrigan and company make it through the Elimination Stage in China.
FaZe has completed the list of playoff teams at the Perfect World Shanghai Major, securing their spot with a crucial 2-2 matchup victory over FURIA in the Elimination Stage this Sunday.
The series began with a rocky start for FaZe, as FURIA dominated the opening map on Inferno. The Brazilians delivered a commanding performance, overwhelming Finn “karrigan” Andersen and his squad with a 13-6 victory.
But as they’ve shown countless times before, FaZe thrives when the stakes are high. The European team responded emphatically on Dust2, showcasing a relentless T-side that set the stage for a decisive battle on Mirage.
On Mirage, FaZe took full control, delivering a CS masterclass – again through a T side, which was led by Robin “ropz” Kool who racked up an impressive 17 kills on the offense with a 2.32 rating as well.
With a 12-2 FaZe lead, FURIA’s winner chances seemed smaller than ever. Yet they gave it a phenomenal shot taking 8 consecutive rounds, but in the end, it was not enough against a FaZe squad that stepped up their game when it mattered the most.
Today’s victory means FaZe secures the last of eight playoff spots at the Shanghai Major, while FURIA must head home to Brazil empty-handed.
