Are you going to watch the Ukrainian Charity Showmatch?
This Friday, two Ukrainian squads will compete against each other in a single bo3 to raise money for the Ukrainian Charity Fund.
The event will have a $11,000 prize pool and will kick-off at 18:30 (CET), with the maps being Dust2, Inferno, and Mirage. The entirety of the prize pool will be donated to the Ukrainian Charity Fund to support Ukrainian armed forces as well as civilians who have faced difficulties due to Russia’s ongoing invasion of the country.
Team markeloff – Football mix
The first team’s captain is Yegor “markeloff” Markelov who is returning to the server for the first time since 2018. He was a part of Natus Vincere’s first Counter-Strike team back in 2013, the same year he grabbed himself spot at 15th in HLTV’s Top 20 player ranking of 2013.
On his team, markeloff only has one other Counter-Strike player in form of 23-year-old Stefan “1mpala” Ailazian. In addition, Dota 2 player Bogdan “Iceberg” Vasylenko will also be found on the server, alongside two footballers in Oleksandr Zinchenko and Yevhen Konoplyanka, who play for Arsenal and MKS Cravocia, respectively.
Team Edward – Rap mix
The second team features one of NAVI’s longest-serving members in Ioann “Edward” Sukhariev as the captain. The 34-year-old Ukrainian represented NAVI for the majority of his pro CS:GO career and helped them win 15 trophies during his stint, alongside making three Major grand final appearances. In 2013, Edward ranked 16th in HLTV’s Top 20 player ranking, just one spot behind markeloff.
His team for the charity match consists of NAVI Junior talent, Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov, and his former NAVI teammate in Arseny “ceh9” Trynozhenko. Rounding out the lineup are two rappers from the music industry, KYIVSTONER and Lil Morty.
