ESIC launches new transparency program
The Esports Integrity commission is trying to communicate more transparently about ongoing investigations
The watchdog organization called the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has announced a new initiative to help further the transparency between the public and themselves. The initiative will seek to present the public with trustworthy and proportionate information regarding various different ongoing public investigations.
The initiative is planned to be released in four stages. The first, and currently only phase, that has been released is the phase called "Matters Register". The goal of the announced first phase is to provide updates into declassified public investigations. Their plans to create transparency between the organization and the public come after a recently growing interest in the activities being investigated.
The first phase of the initiative currently consists of three open investigations. The open investigations at hand are the one regarding possible betting fraud by the CEO of Project X called Oleksandr Shyshko, the North American and Australian match-fixing accusations, and finally the case regarding the spectator bug.
Both the investigation of Oleksandr Shyshko and the spectator bug has been marked as in their "finalization" stage, whereas the case regarding match-fixing is still marked as "active". Furthermore, the organization has announced that the next update regarding the match-fixing speculations is to be expected on Monday, August 23 at 10:00.
