How Games Appeal to More People Now
The growing diversity of the gaming market helps to explain why different games now appeal to more people than ever before. This look at the games most enjoyed by women gamers covers The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and the Zero Escape series of titles, all of which are equally popular among male gamers.
In terms of games designed specifically to appeal to women, Rhianna Pratchett worked as a lead writer on 2013’s Tomb Raider and 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider. These games are credited with rebooting the series by giving Lara Croft a tougher and more realistic image as a female adventurer, moving it away from the exaggerated and unrealistic approach to Lara’s image seen before then.
We can also see in the casino games sector how variety is used to appeal to every type of player. This list of fast payout casinos covers the likes of LeoVegas and Jackpot City. This inclusivity is likely to increase, with many of the upcoming games to be released in 2024 set to feature strong women in leading roles. As for the CS: GO tournament, in the future gamers may look back on the 2023 event as being a turning point when women gamers started to move onto a more equal footing with their male counterparts.
