CS:GO comes up short at Game Awards 2022
VALORANT ended up beating four other finalists at The Game Awards 2022.
This Friday, VALORANT was named the best esports game of the year at The Game Awards 2022. In a night that featured multiple award-winning games, players, and coaches, the Riot FPS Game defeated the other four finalists. The competition for the best esports game of the year had League Of Legends, CS:GO, Dota2, and Rocket League on the list, but the reward was awarded to the newest and youngest of these esports.
A VALORANT player also won the Best Esports Athlete category, Jaccob “yeah” Whiteaker. He stood out and beat out top competitors such as Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Lee “Faker” Sang-Hyeok.
